About three miles away in Llangadfan is the lovely Cwpan Pinc Vintage Tea Room and village store. Whether its a full Welsh breakfast, afternoon tea or for a newspaper and a loaf of bread, its just 5 minutes drive.
About 15 minutes (8 miles) to the east is Llanfair Caereinion, a small town with a nice old church and some good pubs. From here you can catch the Light Steam Railway to Welshpool or just use the café and buy railway souvenirs. The essential Spar shop is here, which is open on Sunday and sells as selection of wine and beers.
The market town of Welshpool, with Powys castle, canal boat rides, four supermarkets and numerous shops and cafes is about 30 minutes (17 miles).
